What I have learned today [2015/4/14]

1. Tainted water kills at half a million people  a year.

2. ATMs are here to stay by automating tasks done by humans before.

3. There are super luxury vans equipped with luxurious chairs and media centers that can cost almost a million. This is the ultimate pimp my ride :D With all the equipment, the gas mileage should not be so wonderful :p

4. Many popular titles are not available on  Kindle Unlimited :( Not even the very very old good ones....This really upsets me. Still I love Kindle.

5. I have learned that I am sometimes too lazy even to grab the weights right next to my desk :( The inertia is overwhelming Ooooooohhhh.

6. I have learned that in Exodus, there were times that Pharaoh hardened his heart and other times when God hardened Pharaoh's heart. Given what I know about God, I believe that God allowed Pharaoh to be wicked but then again we never know everything about God's intent. However, I believe that God is good and somethings we still do not understand very well.

7. I have learned that I should thank more because we are so blessed. Jesus thank You for everything including water, food, electricity, internet, and other amenities. Father, never let me forget that all things comes from You and let me be always joyful in You. Lord, I pray that You bless us and use us to spread Your gospel and love.

What I have learned today [2015/4/9]

1. God wants tenth of what we earn, Pharaoh demands fifth (Genesis 48:24). Wow, God you are really loving. What is funny is that Pharaoh has a lower tax rats than the US government....If Pharaoh can run his kingdom with all the pyramids than the US could do too...

2. Planting trees not the most effective way to fight desertification. Planting native species and bringing animals that can revitalize the soil is much more effective.

3. Board and food cost rising faster than inflation.I am not surprised. Universities have great pricing power and they will maximize their profits just to lose on pet projects and inefficient systems...We seriously need to cut the costs in universities.

4. Most efficient way to store data is in magnetic tapes. Yup magnetic tapes can store tons of data safely. By the way, this is how Google stores data.

What I have learned today [2014/3/31]

Another busy day but thank You God for giving me another beautiful day.

1. Enhance your speech for better outcomes. Get a deeper voice and speak clearly with not much agitation.

2. Before the Securities Exchange Act of 1933, stock exchanges had somewhat strict disclosure standards but they were rarely enforced. Yup, we need some regulation but not too much.

3. Discover Card has great customer service. They picked up my call, were cordial, and resolved my problem.

4. MyHabit.com, run by Amazon has great deals. Well, I shopped at MyHabit.com before but while I was shopping today, I realized wow, the products have been consistently getting better.

5. Book prices on Amazon drop pretty quickly! Whoa!

6. Putin may suffer a blow  in 2016 given his recent failures with Ukraine and the Russian economy. Well, time to think about investing in Russia. It is the cheapest BRIC by the way  :D

7. Reading the Genesis, I have learned that Jacob really worked hard under Laban yet God blessed Jacob so much!
