What I have learned today [2015/6/6-2015/6/7]

1. Some Kindle books really have weird format. Amazon should either fix them or warn the readers and give a discount.

2. Japanese commercials can be quite interesting. I guess some are quite creative but others are like hmmm....we need to work more on mental health?

3. Explaining programming and statistics can be quite more difficult.

4. A lot of finance and financial planning blogs seem to go dormant not only due to lack of content but just being too general. Some also sound like announcement boards rather than a place of communication and discussion.

5. SEC may demand more information from audit committees. I think more information would not hurt, specifically given the importance of the audit committee. It would be great if the SEC mandated the disclosure of potential issues discussed by the audit committee.

What I have learned today [2015/4/29]

1. Microsoft shows that augmented reality is here. The technology came a far way and yet need to go further. But the possibilities are immense. We won't have to travel as much to meet and talk to people. Giving online classes would be much more fun and interactive. Also, it would be much easier to describe and talk about objects. Awesome.

2. Algorithm can detect drunkenness. This technology could help detect number of drunk people in the streets and prevent crime. Police could be dispatched to send the drunk people home safely and make sure that they don't do anything stupid.

3.Oregon challenged breweries to make beer using treated sewage water. Yup, beer was made because water was unsafe to drink back in the day. Pretty clever idea ^^

4. Reading a textbook on Kindle is No No. The screen is too small and the figures are a bit off.

5. Soon warehouse operations will be mainly run by robots. Lower costs and more efficiency but the we really need to think about training the displaced low skilled workers.

What I have learned today [2015/4/19]

1. How are old books more expensive on Kindle!!! ugh!! I can see may be a price difference of few dollars for convenience but older print version costs only 1 cent...

2. Meritocracy, patience, careful planning and relentless execution produces jaw dropping results. Please read my review.

3. Almond is the most desired agricultural product in CA and it consumes 10% of CA's water.

4. Creating insightful and interesting content is hard :p Need to read more, synthesize, then work on the writing ^^

5. Guinea pigs usually live five years (hmm..i thought it would be shorter).

What I have learned today [2015/4/14]

1. Tainted water kills at half a million people  a year.

2. ATMs are here to stay by automating tasks done by humans before.

3. There are super luxury vans equipped with luxurious chairs and media centers that can cost almost a million. This is the ultimate pimp my ride :D With all the equipment, the gas mileage should not be so wonderful :p

4. Many popular titles are not available on  Kindle Unlimited :( Not even the very very old good ones....This really upsets me. Still I love Kindle.

5. I have learned that I am sometimes too lazy even to grab the weights right next to my desk :( The inertia is overwhelming Ooooooohhhh.

6. I have learned that in Exodus, there were times that Pharaoh hardened his heart and other times when God hardened Pharaoh's heart. Given what I know about God, I believe that God allowed Pharaoh to be wicked but then again we never know everything about God's intent. However, I believe that God is good and somethings we still do not understand very well.

7. I have learned that I should thank more because we are so blessed. Jesus thank You for everything including water, food, electricity, internet, and other amenities. Father, never let me forget that all things comes from You and let me be always joyful in You. Lord, I pray that You bless us and use us to spread Your gospel and love.

What I have learned today [2015/4/10]

1. According to a new survey, Saudi's spend most time on social media. I am surprised at this finding but also can understand it. Saudi Arabia is still very repressive and yet people want to express and communicate. I really hope that SNS brings more positive change to Saudi Arabia instead of being a recruiting ground by extreme terrorist groups.

2. To be a good investor, one has to be truly open minded. Ray Dalio clearly shows that you should question everything and not fall in love with anything. I still have lot to learn because I often become attached to certain investment thesis :(  Still learning everyday :D

3. You can maximize returns by purchasing Amazon gift cards online when there are online purchase rewards for Discover Financial Card.

4. Kindle books are quite expensive considering that old books sell less than a dollar. hmmm.

5. Writing posts everyday really requires discipline :D
