What I have learned Today [2015/7/1]

1. Korean scientist sentenced for academic fraud. There is no excuse for scientific fraud. Hope we keep cracking down on fraud.

2. Use selfies for credit card transactions. Great idea except for privacy concerns ^^

3. US GDP  will still be larger than China in 2030.

4. 40% of residents in Amsterdam commute by bike. This is what I call efficient! Hope the world bikes more too.

5. EY fined 4.07 million for violating independence rule.  I think the penalties should be higher to deter further independence rule violations.

What I have learned today [2015/6/30]

1. In India, there is a village of wrestlers who work as bouncers. A village of wrestlers...India could have its own WWF. That would be entertaining.

2. Charter plane for frequent commuter for 2000 a month from NYC to Boston. This is what I call aviation innovation. I just hope they still have to fly less because well flying does consume time and energy and produces pollution. Can't wait for virtual reality meetings :D

3. First 3D printed car. 3D printing will bring more customization to cars and also lower cost because we won't have to build massive factories but instead have small shops.

4. Male models get paid way less than female models. Should we start complaining? hmmmm...

5. There are no rivers in Saudi Arabia.

What I have learned today [2015/6/29]

1. Japanese elders are increasingly dying alone and only being found after months. This is very tragic, we should really put more effort in taking care of the elderly.

2. Disney bans selfie-sticks. I don't like selfie-sticks although it was a good idea. Soon we will have drones taking pictures of us, I wonder how Disney will react then.

3. Airbnb's CEO, Chesky, has great points about leading the firm. Learn quickly by talking to experts and be bold. Great advice, also things that you can only learn when you set on an adventure not in school.

4. Google's self-driving car cut off Delphi's self-driving car. I am all for driverless cars but we'd better make sure that it is safe and that there is some nuclear option making the car stop to avoid any disasters.

5. E-Cigarettes are more harmful than perceived. We need to do more research about E-Cigarettes.

My Thoughts about Greece [2015/7/3]

There was panic and some shock in the markets when Greece defaulted.

However, I was not surprised. The way Tspiras acted, trying to blame the lender for the

nation's woes seemed like a doomed strategy. But what surprised me was how the

Greeks did not say let's get our act together but instead kept blaming other nations and

capitalism.

Greeks cannot really blame others as rampant corruption, tax evasion, and early and

generous retirement has been possible not only by corrupt politicians by the supporting

public. People loved the populism and the cronyism, as long as they could enjoy it.

Now that the money has run out, they are complaining. This is unacceptable.

If Greeks do not repent and mend their ways, there will be a more vicious cycle and the

birth place of democracy will be a sad downfall of its former glory.

So what can be done to save Greece? Throwing more money, will not fix things.

Now they really have to make reforms. Yes, it will be painful but often people are so

stubborn that they resist until the very end. However, I do remain optimistic about Greece.

Greece has lot of smart and good people. Well, it is time for Greece to help them do the

job so it can get out of this crisis.

What can the rest of the world do? Here are somethings that we can do to help Greece.

1. Invest in Greece. With a crisis, there will be some good buying opportunities.

2. Help the Greek. If you know anyone who related to Greece and can do something for Greece help them. You can help them through guidance or simply moral support.

3. Teach in Greece. If you are a professor or can teach something help educate the younger generation so they can increase their productivity.

4.Help the reforms. If you have skills in detecting tax evasion or corruption, offer to help out.

5. Visit Greece. Greece is a mess right now but after it settles help them through tourism.

Finally, let us all pray for the best. Let us love our neighbor with all our hearts.

What I have learned today [2015/6/28]

1.  Your gut bacteria may explain your mood. Yes, listen to your gut ^^

2. MOOCs increased the quality of education, as educators learn from the best educators and use what they learned in classes.

3. There are more obese people than overweight people in the US. Time to eat less and exercise more. So much happiness and money lost due to obesity. Time to get back on track.

4. Designer waters are selling well. Well...if there is demand...I wonder how many people can even discriminate between different waters...time for a blind taste test :D

5. Ghetto Kids became stars through YouTube. Hope social media keeps bringing more positive change.
